Biography

XIAO Liantuan is a professor and doctoral advisor at State Key Laboratory of Quantum Optics and Quantum Optics Devices, Institute of Laser Spectroscopy, Shanxi University. He has been selected as the Yangze River Scholar Professor of Minister of Education in China, the Millions of Talent Projects National candidates in China, and the leader of the innovation team of the Ministry of Education. Professor XIAO is currently the vice president of Taiyuan University of technology, the director of the Institute of Laser Spectroscopy, and the deputy director of the State key laboratory of quantum optics and quantum optics devices. Professor XIAO got his PHD in 2001 from Shanxi University. He started the research of single molecule spectroscopy when he was a visiting scholar in France. After that he built his group in Institute of Laser Spectroscopy of Shanxi University where he became a professor in 2004. His research interests cover the single molecule spectroscopy, quantum optics and nanophotonics, and the quantum control methods and technologies for quantum precision measurement regarding the interaction between laser and atoms/molecules. Professor XIAO has published >360 peer-reviewed articles in the international journals. He has presided over 22 research projects such as the National Key R&D Program, 863 Program, National Major Research Instruments Development Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has won the first prize of Natural Science of Shanxi Province, and the first prize of Technological Invention of Shanxi Province.
