Dr. Julie Pires is a highly accomplished materials scientist with expertise in electrochemical energy storage and advanced battery technologies. She earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tours, France, in 2016, with research focused on lithium-ion battery electrolytes featuring lithium-rich cathodes. Following her doctorate, she joined ARKEMA’s R&D division, where she led strategic projects on innovative cathode materials and electrolytes for lithium-sulfur batteries and coordinated international collaboration between ARKEMA’s Pau facility and OXIS Energy in the UK. Currently serving as a senior scientist, Dr. Pires leads the Material Development Team at Beyonder Battery Research Centre in Stavanger, Norway, driving advancements in battery materials and sustainable energy storage solutions. A dedicated mentor and advocate for sustainability, she also holds a certification in Sustainable Supply Chain Management from the University of Cambridge.
